Burning Down the House

Took down my art show from the University of Phoenix today. It was up for 17 months. Great experience. Sold some pieces, but even better, it bolstered my self convenience. I tell my kids, with every new challenge you are going to feel a little insecure, it's normal, but give it sometime, after awhile you're going to feel like you were born there!
Thanks to everybody who bought some art.
You can still get all of the shows pieces at the website.

Angels with Wings on Their Heels

So this marks a return of sorts –

I hit an artistic wall after the playing card project and haven’t felt like doing anything. It is still kind of concerning, because I’m wondering if I’m out of the woods yet. This picture has been a long time coming, probably clear back to March.

Ideas pop into my head and I think, “That would be cool to do” – then I go about my day. This idea kept drawing it’s self over and over though. I ended up in the hospital again sometime in October and the first thing I drew when I got in there was this “Angels with Wings on Their Heels”
It’s a representation of how quickly some things come and go. I could tell you all the literal things that have come and gone, but it won’t help you enjoy the piece anymore. I rather you just notice she hasn’t got any other wings except the ones on her heels, not your conventional angel! Enjoy!

University of Phoenix Art Show

I’ve been away from this blog so long, it’s turned 5000 without my usual fanfare.

One of the things that has happen since we last met, is I’m getting a chance to show my art work at the University of Phoenix campus here in Meridian ID. It will be 15 pcs. The art will be for sale, and there will be some extra added surprises.

Modern technology will let you purchase my art with the help of your Smart phone. QR codes near each piece will let you go to DeviantART directly. Also, I will be showing the Harvey Wood illustrations and for the first time, you will be able to access the entire book using the QR codes next to the piece, How cool is that?!

But for those of you that can’t be here, I’ve given you the link to Randy Campbell’s blog. Moreover, I’m looking forward to showing the progress of the process too. I’m even going to try some video blogging and post it here.

Terri's Cats

I found this old picture of this little girl holding a bunch of cat. There was something magical about it. I just had to draw it!

What you have here are the two steps it took to finish it. It almost drew itself. The watercolor was fun to do, because there were more details to think about. I noticed I have come 180 degrees from “the Brady Bunch on Acid” piece where I had the watercolor exclusively in the background. Now there’s the color as part of the main subject.

I think I'll do that some more.
